Evening dress, 1965-1966

Here the classic tartan wool skirt has been reinvented in silk with gold and silver checks.

The evening dress was made by Märthaskolan in Stockholm, a fashion label and sewing academy that trained seamstresses and tailors primarily for high fashion, between 1927 and 1975. Märthaskolan had a French department. There, garments were sewn based on original patterns from French fashion houses.

An evening dress in brown silk with check stripes in gold, silver and dark brown. It has thin shoulder straps and a bow at the waist.

Inner label: By Appointment to H.M. The Queen Märthaskolan boutique Stockholm.
