Jumpsuit, 1965

In the 1960s it became acceptable for women to wear trousers in all contexts, not just for sports and leisure. Jumpsuits were unheard-of until the 1960s. This particular one could be worn instead of an evening dress, but only by the most daring of women.

The jumpsuit was designed by Katja of Sweden, Katja Geiger. It was important to Katja that the clothes she created were comfortable and practical. The wearer should be able to move naturally. Even her evening garments had practical pockets.

Jumpsuit designed by Katja of Sweden, Katja Geiger. The cotton fabric, Horisontrand, with gold print was designed by Sven Fristedt. The jumpsuit was made in spring 1965 by MMT, Malmö Mekaniska Tricotfabrik.
